Married in 1997, Matt and Rosemary have 4 wonderful children. Connor, Brennan, Megan and Ashleigh. They live in Perth, Western Australia, where they serve full time with Youth Ministries Australia.
Matt grew up in the country, attending a small Baptist church with his parents and brother. The family moved to Perth in 1988 and for the next 9 years, Matt lived and worked in many different places. From wheat and sheep farming to pearl farming, Matt has done almost everything. Truck driving, mining equipment parts and sales, security dog trainer, cook, nightclub bouncer, jackaroo… just to name a few other jobs. All during this time, God had other plans for Matt, and he found himself studying at the Australian College of Ministries in Perth. Whilst doing this he was a youth intern at Thornlie Church of Christ. Matt has also been a school chaplain and most recently was the youth pastor at Gosnells Baptist Church, where he served for 7 years before going full time with YMA.
Rosemary was born in Perth, Western Australia, and grew up living in the hills. For many years, she worked for the Department of Family and Children’s Services as a case worker. She loves children and has a real heart for young mums and teens from troubled families. She grew up in the Salvation Army church before moving to Thornlie Church of Christ in her early 20′s. It was there that she first met Matt.
For fun, the Fricker’s love 4WD’ing on the beach or in the bush, fishing and camping, hanging out with friends and entertaining. They have two dog called Cindy and Izzy, a cat called Tippy, a kitten called Pudding, one chicken who gets called chook-chook and a pond full of fish (as yet all un-named ).
